Been putting this off a bit because I was hoping all the drama with my newest business would die down and I could focus back in on my writing the way I wanted to, but it just keeps finding new ways to eat my time so going forward I'm just going to be scheduling the authoring work around it.
Since Artifice sold well, I'm going to start taking the writing stuff more seriously going forward and dial back my first business a bit since the tech industry is not doing well at the moment. That and this is just more fun.
Regarding the account on Reddit and communicating there, I finally got some confirmation that one of the mods in the Haremlit forum took offense to the references about the Feminazi gang on the Sheol, applied their personal RL politics to the fictional world, and banned my account after scrubbing any reference to them off of the forum. I'm not going to bother to appeal that kind of nonsense, it isn't like I get paid to use the platform and I already didn't like social media when I made an account there, I just wanted to be able to interact with you all.
Toward that end, we are setting up Patreon and Subscribestar accounts in October, I've already made some world building/expansion content exclusively for those platform subscribers and I'll do monthly updates of that kind of bonus content there as a reward for your support. The first three content rewards are a character sheet/profile for Phyra, an AIncyclopedia entry cataloguing recent human history and their near demise, and a Classified AIncyclopedia entry for all known information about the Ashtor, annotated by Aia with info she's gathered directly from Phyra. I also have plans to do some ship logs from individual characters to give you more of an insight into their thoughts, concerns, and overall personalities as the story progresses.
For audio books, I've been approached by a few different companies and have not yet found one that had terms I could reasonably agree to. I take my IP contracts quite seriously and I'm not going to let someone eat off of my plate unless they bring something of at least equal value to the table, and that thing also can't have needles baked into it. If any of you have recommendations for individual voice actors I could listen to and perhaps approach to deal with directly, I'm happy to take those suggestions. You know what the books are like and what kind of voice work would suit them, so I'd love to hear from you all. Eventually, if I find the time, I want to do an author read version exclusive to my patrons as well, but that's down the road a bit.
Lastly, the thing that is probably going to piss some of you off, and for that I do apologize: The next book out is not going to be from the Sheol Saga. I've had another story creep into my head in recent months and it needs to get out, so I am currently about 25% of the way through my first System LitRPG Harem book. My working title is The Endless Graveyard, and it will be Book One of the Sin Eater Chronicles. Just FYI, the MC dies at the peak of his power in the first chapter, if you're wondering about the tone. :P
Book three of the Sheol Saga sits at about 15%, mainly from a new intro that came to me while I was at the gym when a song from the Doom OST came on at just the right moment to trigger a lucid dream. That in combination with the overflow from Artifice that I shifted into this book. Working title for book three is Durance, and it will primarily be set on the Eisheth homeworld where Greye is going to have to navigate a complex socio-political and diplomatic situation with a completely alien culture he has no real frame of reference for, while Phyra and the crew that have to remain onboard work to keep the Sheol in one piece while he's gone. Fair chance that things won't go smoothly.
Anyway, that's all for now. I'm going to shift back to focused writing mode for the next eight months and I'm aiming to have both books out in that time period. We'll see how that goes.
Cheers!

Well, that Reddit situation is truly shameful, but also not completely unexpected. It may explain K.D. Robertson's behavior towards the Reddit and Virgil Knightley's comment on his Patreon about bots downvoting him I think. Anyway, best wishes.
