The Daymaster

CEO of the Artifact Recovery and Restoration Consortium (ARRC) from songrise until songset.

Nndr Ward, The Daymaster

Well loved for his kind and outgoing nature, The Daymaster is extremely intelligent and possesses a disciplined and analytical mind.

Nndr is known for his strong leadership skills and temperate disposition. While he values his many relationships a great deal, he does have a reputation for having... many of them, and in those his judgment can sometimes be called into question. Still, none doubt that he see's life and the people around him through a joyful and caring lense.

In combat, Nndr is a calm and tactical fighter, utilizing the swift and surgical precision of his rapier to deadly effect. While his sharp mind and lightning fast analytical skills serve him well in his leadership role both in and outside of conflict, Nndr does have trouble balancing his pragmatic thoughts with his empathetic nature. As a result, he sometimes struggles with issues steeped in moral ambiguity and nuance, especially when they risk harm to others.

The Nightmaster

CEO of the Artifact Recovery and Restoration Consortium (ARRC) from songset until songrise.

Nccz Ward, The Nightmaster

Grim and extremely pragmatic, the Nightmaster is a figure surrounded by fearful rumor and dark speculation. Founder of the ARRC's force of highly trained spies and assassins, the Blackcloaks, his reputation for ruthless violence and merciless judgement is not unearned.

But beneath the terrifying specter is a man haunted by abuse and betrayal, forced to bear the torturous weight of responsibility for thousands, if not millions, of lives. Wary of relationships and forever denied the warmth of Song's light, he is a solitary nocturn that basks in Sister's glow each night, trapped by his past. A man desperately clinging to his mission and his purpose to hold himself away from the shadows within, so that he can protect the people he cares about from those growing within the city.

In combat Nccz is the stuff of nightmares, proficient with any weapon that comes to hand, eerily strong, and impossibly quick. He is cold, calculated, unflinching, and even more deadly behind enemy lines than he is on the front line. The Nightmaster has no old enemies.

Keer Ezriel

Liberated former slave, Liaison of the Night, and possible first apprentice of the Nightmaster.

Keer Ezriel

Taken from the ashes of her home by slavers after an attack by a rival tribe annihilated her people, Keer spent her formative adolescence enduring the horrors of slavery in the lawless red wastes. At times overwhelmed and nearly broken, she nonetheless endured the slow march of years that gradually became decades, as she watched her contemporaries die or descend into madness.

Late one night, after a great and bloody battle between the slavers and a Nyytian caravan, her most recent owners dragged her from her cage to serve in an act of ultimate depravity. But a disturbance in the camp created an opportunity she could not ignore. For the first time in her life, Keer listened to that small voice that spoke to her darkest heart:
"Kill them! Make them pay!"

Fully expecting to die that night, Keer instead found herself reborn, her world changing diametrically as she scrambled to adapt and find her place in it. Stubborn but uncertain, recalcitrant but longing for connection, Keer has attached herself to the "dark god" known as The Nightmaster, seeing in him many of her own contradictions as well as a strength she hopes to one day share.

Aston sof Rast (Tns)

Aston sof Rast (Tns)

Heir to the legacy and fortune of the most powerful Core aristocrat in modern history, now in hiding.

Aston sof Rast (Tns)

Born to privilege so great that even high society set him apart as "the other", Aston has always strained beneath the mantle of the Rast family name. Haunted by his mother's early passing, trapped in the shadow of his father's greatness, and surrounded by wealth and power he had no part in creating, he has very little in life that he can truly call his own and few meaningful relationships from which to build.

Sensing a dark shift in the political winds of Nyyt, Aston's father suddenly thrusts him into the alien environment of the ARRC, offering him up to the masters as an apprentice in a bid to safeguard him against the depredations of the Regulator and the Council.

Unskilled, inexperienced, and hiding behind a thin shield of arrogant condescension, Aston soon finds himself the lowest of the low within the company hierarchy. Renamed Tns, to hide his identity and remind him of his new place in the world, he must learn quickly to reinvent himself within a peer group that regards competence as its highest value, and honors men for their deeds, rather than their birthright.
